Welcome to the Simply Styled blog! My name is Jessica, and my love for design started in retail where I found myself styling mannequins and accent walls in clothing stores. Once we bought our first home, my passion and ideas for design flowed over into the rooms of the house.

The blog captures my projects of affordable pieces with a higher price tag feel. Without overcomplicating the design, my projects are simply styled. The tips, tricks, and stories I share are for people who want to tackle DIY projects, try new design ideas, and make the most out of the things they already have in their home.

Design is a puzzle that you mix up and try putting together over and over again until you find the right fit. I maximize what’s available in each project, whether that means using more square footage, highlighting details, or finding a new use for a piece of scrap material in the basement.

Whether it’s an accent piece, a rug, a paint color, or a new plant, designing is about starting something new and trying until you find what works. Testing and experimenting with both the old and new, this blog is a journey of my own design path and I’m excited to share what I learn along the way.
